IEC Technical Committee TC77 Subcommittee SC77B studies a radiated immunity test in close proximity to equipment as an IEC standard of IEC 61000-4-39. Though IEC 61000-4-39 2nd CD, which is published in July 2015, requires the test distance between equipment under test (EUT) and a test antenna as 100±5 mm at the frequency range from 385 MHz to 6 GHz, validation of the test distance still have remained. In this paper, validation of the test distance for radiated immunity test in close proximity, which assumes the case that a 2.4 GHz-band wireless device would be used in close proximity to telecommunication equipment, are reported. Three type of antenna, which might be candidate antennas for the radiated immunity test in close proximity, are used for validating its uniformity of electric field to EUT if there is a change in the test distance. From a viewpoint of the test distance, the electric field strength near the test antenna is evaluated when side surfaces of EUT are shielded by metallic conductors. Furthermore, differences in the impact to EUT, which is related to test distance, are also evaluated by changing test signals of the radiated immunity test in close proximity. |
