(in English) Mode-division multiplexing (MDM) transmission using few-mode fiber (FMF) is considered a promising technology for dealing with the capacity crunch faced by optical fiber communication networks employing conventional optical fiber. The input power tends to increase with an increase in the multiplexing number per fiber in MDM transmission. This high input power induces a nonlinear effect in FMF and it is concerned about signal degradation caused by the nonlinear effects. In this work, we first investigate experimentally the intra-wavelength nonlinear effect in a two LP mode fiber, and then evaluate its effect on the optical MIMO transmission performance taking account of both intermodal linear and nonlinear signal degradations.
