[Special Talk] Cloud Network Robot as an Infrastructure of Services

(in English) In response to changing customer needs, SECOM is creating new services in line with three key themes: security, a super-aged society and disaster preparedness/BCP/environmental preservation.

We call one of the infrastructures supporting the services "Man-Machine System".
The Man-Machine System is based on a “sensor network” with robots. It monitors customers' health and facilities. The data aggregated by the sensor network are sent to our data center. By using the data, information systems and trained personnel make decisions and acts adequately. The infrastructure, which might be a model of cloud network robot, has been operated 24/7 for nearly fifty years at SECOM.

The essence of the Man-Machine System is a fusion of advantages of well-trained humans and advantages of machines. This presentation shows the design concept of the Man-Machine System and its use cases. We also describe our expectation of a cloud network robot as an infrastructure for our future services from the perspectives of the fusion of human and information system, and the cooperation among robot, human and information system on cloud.
