Artifact Reduction Method for Subjective Quality Improvement of Free Viewpoint Images

(in English) Most of the conventional approaches which synthesis free-viewpoint images are focusing on improvement of image quality via estimating accurate 3D shapes in a scene. However, errors in estimating 3D shapes cause artifacts which degrade quality of synthesized images. This paper describes a novel method to directly eliminate these artifacts. Although our resulting 3D shape has a little distortion, our approach can improve subjective the quality of synthesized image. Experiments results confirmed the effect of our method.
