Impact of CSI error on Distributed Antenna OFDM-MU-MIMO Downlink

(in English) In small-cell network where a number of distributed antennas are deployed within each macro-cell, multi-user multiple-input multiple-output (MU-MIMO) transmission using multiple distributed antennas close to user equipments (UEs) achieves a high sum throughput. The minimum mean square error based joint transmit and receive linear filtering (joint Tx/Rx filtering) which we proposed recently requires the channel state information (CSI) at both sides of baseband unit (BBU) and UE. Our previous study assumed the ideal CSI estimation. In this paper, we model the CSI error as a sum of estimation errors due to the thermal noise and due to the time-varying fading channel. We discuss about the impact of CSI error on small-cell network downlink using distributed antenna orthogonal-frequency division multiplexing (OFDM)-MU-MIMO.
