Optimizing Lighting for Sculpture Exhibition Based on Shading

(in English) In this paper, we propose a method that evaluates the appearance of sculpture
exhibition from the viewpoint of lighting. In addition, we implemented the method on a lighting optimization system for exhibition design. We revise the lighting selection method for computer graphics proposed by Shacked for the lighting design of sculpture exhibition. With the revised evaluation method, we propose a lighting optimization system for a real sculpture exhibition. We compared the result of proposed lighting evaluation method with the ranking of lighting preference by human subjects for several types of sculpture. The experimental results indicate that human ranking and machine evaluation
results show very similar characteristics.
