In order to change taste perception by visual feedback, we propose a system that changes both food and beverage color saturation with a head-mounted display. In this paper,we report the results of our system demonstration and describe how changing beverage saturation affects strength and clarity of taste by considering problems that occurred during the demonstration as well as in prior research. We define clarity of taste as ease of judging flavor. The feedback from the demonstration suggested that changing beverage saturation affects strength and clarity.Experimental results showed that the higher the saturation became, the stronger the taste subjects perceived regardless of sucrose concentration and the earlier subjects judged a flavor if the color of the beverage matched the flavor. |
