This paper proposes a new index to clarify the percentage of number of failures at each element. We call this index ‘element-itemized failure frequency’ which is defined by multiplying the existing importance measure and failure frequency at each element. By using this measure, we can easily determine which element has high priority to be measured in order to reduce the number of occurrences of failures of telecommunications networks. We have implemented software to analyze this element-itemized failure frequency for graph model that topological connectivity implies the success of telecommunication service. Some numerical example show that we can surely analyze element-itemized failure frequencies approximately for the cases having more than a hundred number of elements, and we can clearly determine which element is important even when it seems difficult for us before executing this analysis. |
