Two experiments to develop a new selective nerve stimulation method were performed.
In the first experiment, we used two pairs of surface electrodes to apply low frequency burst (main) stimulus and to apply high frequency continuous blocking (sub) stimulus. As a result, it was confirmed that when increasing the amplitude of the sub stimulus, the effect of main stimulus was reduced.
In the second experiment, one pair of electrodes was used to apply numerically added main and sub stimulus, each of which is identical to the one in the first experiment. From the result, it was guessed that the superficial nerve fibers were blocked and only the deep nerves were selectively stimulated. |
