(in English) In Japan, an overall concept of information readiness including the Electronic Warfare has originally been missing. For proper understanding of the EW, however, we need to comprehend accurate position of the EW in the defense strategy against the threat, then look at the operation and the technology. In this talk, we view the historic background of EW, consider the concept, the position and the relation with the information, and discuss how it should be, referring examples in the United States.
