[Invited Talk] Optical/Wireless Integrated Devices for Seamless Moderate Range Communication Networks

(in English) In order to realize the optical and wireless seamless network in the moderate range distance, the radio over fiber is one of the important element technology. In particular, high-speed operation optical modulators and the optical receivers are essential. In this paper, by a nested Mach- Zehnder modulator and a uni traveling carrier photo diode, we indicate it is possible to generate the millimeter wave signals (~ 100 GHz) and convert waveforms between optical and wireless signals seamlessly. Then, for smaller footprint and lower energy consumption equipment, optical wireless integrated devices using quantum dots structures are promising. And also, owing to the wide operation bandwidth and high thermal stability, the devices have potential to establish the large capacity and ultrafast communication network and realize the moderate range optical wireless seamless network.
