A light field image is a type of images that can generate the refocus images and depth information after
shooting. Mainly, There are two image types which realize the light-field imges, so we treats the one of the type that
the light-field images consists of the many small circle images. Assuming that light-field images will be broadcasted
on the next television infrastructure, this movies will be encoded in HEVC. so, We researched the properties of the
encoding process of the the light-field images. We found that the depth of CTU splitting are prone to be deeper at
the high brightness area in the scene, but in some case, this deep CTU splitting is inefficiency. so we optimized the
encoding process, in most effective case, we achieved that the process speed got 150% faster than original process,
but bit generation increase is within 2.34% and PSNR drops is -0.59 dB. Moreover, to reduce the drop of the image
quality, We applied the median-blur filter and edge-detection filter to the light-field images, we achieved that the
process speed got 16% faster than original process, the bit generation increase is within 0.76% and PSNR drops can
be suppressed to -0.28dB. |
