We have proposed the urban-area distributed storage system and the risk-aware data replication to sustain information services in areas affected by a wide-spread disaster. The risk-aware data replication decides a safe backup server for a primary server using integer programming problem based on the damage risk between both the primary server and the backup server. As the number of data replicas increases, the problem size grows and the cost for storages to store replicas increases. Therefore, it remains challenges to decide an appropriate backup server in a short computation time and reduce the cost. In this paper, we propose the method that decides a backup server iteratively based on the average number of replicas specified by system administrators. We set a disaster model based on a hazard map information provided by J-SHIS, then we evaluate survived data ratios after a simulated disaster. We confirmed 94% survived data as the expected value when half the number of 24 servers with 1.5 replicas on average are damaged. We conclude that 1.5 replicas on average is appropriate to meet our target of over 90% survived data. |
