(in English) Two-dimensional communication (2DC) enables proximity coupling at arbitrary positions on a sheet-like waveguide, a transmission medium of electromagnetic waves, via an evanescent field that the sheet generates above itself.
The electromagnetic waves propagate along the sheet, while they exponentially decades in the direction perpendicular to the sheet.
It results in a unique geometry of the communication range, different from any other short range wireless communications.
This paper reports on a feasibility study of 100-Mbps-class room-scale wireless communication with extremely low power radios via a 2DC-tiled floor.
