Scheduling method for large data distribution to multiple sites based on the bandwidth of network links

(in English) Recently, digitization of contents has progressed and size of them has become large. It is considered to set edge servers in each sites and deliver contents to these servers. In order to reduce the time to deliver data to all sites, we adopt a multistep delivery approach to use edge servers as data source. Because determining source, destination, and the timing of delivery that minimize the delivery time is the combinational problem, providers who delivers data can’t calculate the delivery schedule within a practical time when the number of sites increases. In order to reduce the scheduling computation time, we propose the deliver scheduling method to cut the number of combinations by grouping edge servers and creating delivery schedules for each group. Our method also reduces the time to deliver data to all sites by grouping servers in the minimum bandwidth network link in the delivery path. We evaluated our method and confirmed that it can reduce both scheduling computation time and assumed value of the delivery time to all sites.
