Proposal and evaluation of a novel Simplified Optical Cross Connect Architecture for enhancement of reachability of elastic optical path

(in English) Elastic optical network is promising because of its high spectral efficiency. But, it has a problem that reachability of optical path in elastic optical network is more degraded than that of optical path in conventional fixed grid network. The optical signal is degraded by spectrum constriction caused by cascaded optical band-pass filters. We will propose a novel Simplified Optical Cross Connect Architecture (SOXC) in order to solve the problem. Novel optical band-pass filters which relax the spectrum constriction is adopted to the SOXC as optical path switching devices. In this paper, we show fundamental research results about a concept of our proposed SOXC and its performance evaluation. From the results, we confirm feasibility of our proposed SOXC.
