In wireless communication, propagation environments vary over time. In time-varying environments, we need to estimate channels by transmitting many pilot symbols at short intervals, so the transmission efficiency is lowered. Also, time for channel state information estimation by pilot symbols is different from time for actual data transmission. This deteriorates communication quality. To solve this problem, some channel prediction schemes have been developed. In this paper, assuming broadband communication, we propose a channel prediction scheme based on impulse response estimation. We obtain the impulse response applying the inverse discrete Fourier transform to the frequency-domain channels. From the difference of delays of multipath components, we resolve them and obtain the Doppler frequencies. We calculate future values of them, and predict the channels using sum-of-sinusoids method. |
