Performance of Overloaded-MIMO with Phase Precoding on Rician Fading Channel

(in English) This paper presents the effect of phase precoding to an overloaded MIMO system with turbo coding on a Rician channel. The 5th generation mobile communication is expected to employ massive MIMO in high frequency bands. Thus, the number of multipath components reduces while a terminal is required to separate receive signal streams. Since a line-of-sight component is a dominant path for signal transmission in the high frequency bands, correlation among signal streams over codeword duration increases and high correlation leads to the increase of a bit error rate (BER). In order to reduce the correlation, OFDM symbol-bysymbol transmit phase precoding is applied. Numerical results obtained through computer simulation and experiments show that the precoding improves the BER performance by 1.5dB at a BER of $10^{-3}$ and resolves an error floor on Rician channels.
