Universal filtered (UF)-OFDM has been proposed to reduce out-of-band emission (OOBE) as a candidate transmission scheme for the 5th or later generation mobile communication (5G) systems.
To apply the UF-OFDM to practical mobile communication systems, effect of long delay multi-path fading should be mitigated by using guard interval (GI).
However, the GI length of the UF-OFDM becomes only half of the GI of the conventional cyclic prefix (CP)-OFDM.
Therefore, communication quality of the UF-OFDM deteriorates in multi-path fading environment with long delay waves above GI length.
In this report, an enhanced UF-OFDM (E-UF-OFDM) scheme is proposed to overcome the influence of long delay multi-path fading effect.
The proposed E-UF-OFDM is evaluated with LTE based parameter and the advantage of the proposed scheme is shown in a large delay spread channel. |
