We evaluated our previously proposed technique for protecting copyrights of digital data for 3-D printing. The proposed technique embedded copyright information into not only digital data but also fabricated objects and read it out from the objects to confirm illegal acts such as bootleg products. In our previous studies, we evaluated a method for applying into low infill density objects by constructing their inside with pillars; however, this method had a problem with embedding information into objects of various shapes. In this study, we examined a new method of applying into low infill density objects. In this method, information was embedded into low infill density objects by constructing their protuberance with inner walls. Thermography was used for nondestructive readout. The results obtained from the experiment indicated that the embedded information could be read. We demonstrated that the proposed technique could be applied into low infill density objects by constructing protuberance with inner walls. |
