[Invited Talk] Design Optimization of Practical Surgery Assisting Devices

(in English) If we try to develop a multipurpose medical device, the device becomes overly complicated. This results in low cost performance and low reliability. In addition, more time and money are required to obtain pharmaceutical approval of such complicated medical device. Hence, it is difficult to put into practice. At the moment, surgeons practically conduct operations with simple medical tools. However, the utilities are restricted by their operative procedure and non-intuitivity caused by overly simplified shape. In order to overcome such problems, we are trying to develop simple devices by narrowing down the essential functions of the operations.
