Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) A redox flow battery is a large capacity storage system consisting of cells and tanks. In the battery, electrolyte circulates by pumps in a closed system of cells and tanks, so that the dynamics of the battery depends on the flow of electrolyte. Recent studies apply the battery into power grid, and request numerical estimations on the dynamical behavior of the battery.
This report discusses behaviors of the redox flow battery for a load variation through a simulation of a model based on chemical reaction theory.
As a result, it is shown that oscillations appear in the battery caused by consumption and supply of ions.
