(in English) After intensive research, network virtualization is now in international standardization phase. Network virtualization encompasses node virtualization and link virtualization. ETSI NFV ISG is taking the lead in defining standard specification for telecom network virtualization. DOCOMO has already commercialized virtualized Evolved Packet Core (EPC) nodes. This paper presents the present status of standardization activities on network virtualization, open source development of NFV, and potential challenges in commercial roll-out of virtualized telecom networks.
