Study of high sensitive Josephson comparators for very small current detection

(in English) The gray zone of Josephson comparators determine the current sensitivity of readout circuits for superconductor detectors. We are investigating Josephson comparators with very small current sensitivity. In this study, we adjust the threshold current by optimizing the critical current of Josephson junctions composing a Josephson comparator, and minimize the gray zone width by modifying the circuit structure to supply the bias current. We designed Josephson comparators with optimized parameters and evaluated the gray zone and the threshold in simulation and measurement. The minimum gray zone width is 1.5 uA and 0.98 uA in simulation and measurement, respectively. The threshold current is evaluated to be 0 uA and 11.7 uA in simulation and measurement, respectively.
