A SSPD developed in house NICT is applied as one of the promising detector for the deep space optical communication. There are two types of SSPDs under test, one is a conventional single pixel, another has newly build four pixels with a SFQ read out circuit. Both of them were installed in optical communications ground station, To confirm the performance, the multiple instruments such as PPM transceiver , satellite EM optical unit has been used in combination with telescope. Receiving signal photons to SSPD from optical terminal on actual small satellite was conducted via the fiber well attenuated through a telescope . The reception level compared to other sensors, though there are problems of the receiver and the environment. |
