A Study on Data-Embedding Position and Gain Control in Data Embedding to Printed Image

(in English) Data embedding and extracting techniques to a printed image using mobile devices have been proposed. In the conventional method based on the diffusion method, kinds of printed images affect to their efficiency of data detection rates. In this paper, data embedding positions in the printed image suitable for the nature of the images are examined to improve the data detection rates. In the conventional method of the gain control for data embedding, peak signal to noise ratio (PSNR) for each block in an image is much different. The proposed method controls the amount of the gain to obtain almost same PSNR for each block. Through experimental results, we show the proposed method is effective for obtaining the improvement of the detection rates.
