A Study on Path Establishment Method based on Distributed Control Plane in Elastic Optical Networks

(in English) Optical path establishment is executed with RMSA (Routing, Modulation Level and Spectrum Allocation) in elastic optical networks. As a control method of executing RMSA, it includes a method based on distributed control using a signaling that can flexibly respond to changes in traffic conditions and node. However, this distributed control cannot avoid rejection of the path demand due to the preceding the other optical path establishment by the signaling delay when the optical path is established between the end node. Therefore, in the previous research we allowed the two path reservation of the optical frequency spectrum by one path request and we could by one path request and we could reduce such request rejections. However, a selection of the optical frequency spectrum for the preparatory path and the process of transferring the connection request have not been sufficiently considered. In this paper, we propose a spectrum allocation method that considers situation of the reservation path when the destination node selects the optical frequency spectrum for the preparatory path and a route search method to improve the connection request processing method. We were able to decrease 63.4% the call blocking probability over the previous method by using both methods in JPN25 topology.
