Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) In the CSMA (Carrier Sense Multiple Access with Collision Avoidance) which is widely accepted as the media access control scheme for the inter-vehicle communication systems, the hidden station problem brings about the possibility of a degradation of the transmission quality. However, there has been no study that tried to evaluate the hidden station phenomenon and the effect in a huge road network environment. We demonstrate stations which move in the road network by the traffic simulator and determine the location of the station at arbitrary point of the time. It is possible to construct the connectivity among the stations owing to the relationship between the CCA (Clear Channel Assessment) and the RSSI (Received Signal Strength Indicator) by the channel propagation simulator based on the propagation model formulated in the LOS (Line-Of-Sight) and the NLOS (Non-LOS) environments in some experimental measurements. We show properties of the frequency of occurrence of the hidden station problem by counting the number of the hidden stations based on the peer to peer numbering method.
