Consideration on Electrodes for Cortical Dipole Imaging in Region of Interest
Kento Kimura, Junichi Hori (Niigata Univ.) MBE2016-26
Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We aimed to visualize brain electrical activities with small number of electrodes. To accomplish this aim, we limited a brain region of interest by considering the variations of signal sources. An electrode arrangement which could exactly estimate brain activities was investigated. In the present study, we paid attention to movement-related potential for a right thumb elicited in the motor cortex. In the simulation, signal sources were arranged in region of interest, and investigated influences to the estimation accuracy by reducing the number of electrodes. The simulation results suggested that optimal number maximizing the correlation coefficient was obtained by considering the amount of noise and source depth. When the dipole signal sources distributed widely, more electrodes were necessary for cortical imaging.
