To utilize the measurements of electrical impedance and/or admittance as a non-invasive method of structural analyses of skeletal muscles, accumulation of knowledge about the relation between the structure of muscles and their impedance and admittance is required. For theoretical calculations of the impedance and admittance based on the muscular structure, we have devised a modified method of the finite-different-method calculations using equivalent elements representing the electrical properties of bundles of the muscle fibers. Utility of the modified method has been shown from the comparison between the results of the calculations by the modified method and those by the conventional method. This suggests that the modified method can be applied to specimens including numerous muscle fibers subjected to the measurements. |
