In this paper, we focus on the visible light communication using a high-speed image sensor for an intelligent transports system.
This system's receiver suffers from an inability to detect the correct
light-emitting diode pixel values since the captured image blurs owing to spatial channel characterization.
To overcome this problem, we proposed data demodulation methods from blurred images
by using maximum likelihood estimation (MLE) method.
However, this method requires high complexity as the number of LEDs increases.
In this paper, we propose a demodulation algorithm whose performance approaches
the MLE method with significantly reduced complexity by considering the reliability of results of MMSE estimation using a threshold parameter.
We conduct computer simulation to evaluate the BER performance of proposed method and complexity reduction performance.
We confirm that the BER performance of the proposed method is close to MLE method and the complexity reduction performance. |
