We have been studying a novel base station that uses Distributed Array Antenna (DAA) Technologies to improve EIRP and G/T performance. The DAA consists of several antennas with RF equipment and DAA controller for collaboration. DAA enables each antenna’s aperture to be downsized and its transmitting power to be reduced while improving system availability. This paper introduces a new base station configuration that uses DAA technologies and the results of indoor verification of a simulated base station consisting of DAA controller and RF equipment. |
