In the future 5G radio access, support of internet of things (IoT) becomes more important. In such scenarios, relatively smaller packet size is important. In order to support such small packet in the severe fading environments, channel coding techniques are inevitable. To this end, tail-biting convolutional code is one of the most important channel code. By employing the list Viterbi algorithm to the tail-biting convolutional code, the block error rate (BLER) performance is further improved. Therefore, this paper evaluates the BLER performance of variation of list Viterbi algorithm, i.e., circular parallel list Viterbi algorithm (CPLVA), per stage CPLVA (PSC-
PLVA), and successive state and sequence estimation (SSSE) considering the BLER performance and computational complexity. It is shown that the performance of CPLVA is better in the wide range of computational complexity
defined in the paper. |
