History and positioning of service reliability terms up to the JIS Z 8115 draft amendment

(in English) Service-related quality and reliability terms, as a rule, are not included in the current JIS Z 8115:2000 Dependability terms. However, in JIS Z-8115 amendment draft, the new section "service reliability" is provided, and contains 21 words therein. In this paper, the history of service quality and reliability-related terms in the international standard IEC 60050 is described while showing an association with JIS Z 8115. Service reliability terms in JIS Z-8115 amendment draft are intended to be applied to a general service system by reference to the basic terms of telecommunications services In addition, the draft of service quality and reliability terms of the electric power system under consideration is also introduced. Finally, consistency of service reliability engineering model and the service-related terms is considered.
