This report describes a teaching method with audible/visible/tangible teaching aids for the active learning. Our objective is to lead students to deep active learning by the aids. We designed a class scenario where the aids is used, based on Engeström’s model. As an instance of such aids, we developed an audible and visible aid to learn electronic communication based on amplitude modulation. The aids, called “Audible AM experimental toolkit" is required to develop because it is hard to learn the electronic communication that signals are originally inaudible/invisible/intangible. We designed an example of teaching scenario by concatenating teaching-time with practicing-time. We expect students to improve applicability of their's knowledge given in the teaching-time during the practicing-time. Audible/visible aid helps them learn by trial-and-error in the practicing-time. The advantage of using the aids is that they can try their questions immediately. When they have new questions after some trials, they can try the questions actively. The series of actions leads them to deep active learning. Examinations of the
scenario is future works. We also would like to develop other audible/visible/tangible teaching aids. |
