[Technology Exhibit] Developement of Channel Sounder at 2.4 GHz using Software Radio Periperal

(in English) Channel measurements are indispensable for appropriate design of radio communications systems. For channel measurement, the channel sounder or vector network analyzer is commonly used. However, they are
not easily used in measurements due to their large size and high cost. From these reasons, development of small and low cost equipment is needed. In this study, we developed the software defined radio based channel sounder by using Labview and Universal Software Radio Peripheral (USRP). We have implemented signal processing for channel measurements, and validated the operation measuring the channel responses of the device under test(DUT) that emulates a multipath channel. In addition, we empirically evaluated the nonlinearity of the power amplifier, and the phase stability and phase noise characteristics of the local oscillator of the USRP.
