The microwave oven (MWO) is a famous appliance which can act as a fatal interferer for 2.4 GHz wireless LAN (WLAN) systems. Hence, for reliable communication of WLAN systems, namely to exploit the spectral resources free from MWO interference, we proposed an inverter MWO signal detection method. Switching is inherent in the inverter MWO, and the power level of the leak signal varies depending on the switching frequency. The signal detection method is a technique to recognize the changing signal power level by the switching. In this article, with the experimental inverter/transformer MWO data obtained in an anechoic chamber, we confirm the effectivity of the signal detection method in the presence or absence of WLAN systems in terms of detection ratio and false positive ratio. |
