SDN based Mobility Management Architecture for Multicasting

(in English) IP Multicast plays important roles in mobile networks in terms of bandwidth efficiency. Current IP multicast is enabled by deploying the multicast functions to Mobility Access Router(MAR) in Proxy Mobile IPv6 (PMIPv6). The multicast traffic is tunneled from the anchor to the current MAR. As a result, the movement of Mobile Nodes causes several issues for the ongoing multicast flows such as service disruption and tunneling overhead. Software Defined Network(SDN) Simplified forwarding hardware controller by intelligent centralized software. In this paper, we design a Software Defined Network based mobility management architecture for multicasting ? a centralized group management scheme without multicast anchor and unnecessary traffic redirection with help of global view of network topology in the SDN controller. The critical compression analysis with traditional solutions are mentioned in this paper as well.
