To support the mobility of visually impaired people, airports and stations have a voice guidance that guides people to a rest room or an escalator. Almost all of current voice guidance are fixed to place, further improvement are expected by using mobile terminal. In this article, we examine the role of fixed-speaker and portable terminal, and also consider how to use smart devices for voice guidance. The result of the field experiment shows that presentation of direction is a key to use, and mixed method is desirable for the role of fixed-speaker and portable terminal. We also discover that it is better to select devices depending on the purpose of simple notification or the purpose of detailed information presentation. |
