Design of Excess Inventory Monitoring Tool for Manufacturing

(in English) In manufacturing companies, they have a problem in operation of the inventory management. Potential excess inventories of manufacturing components are generated by various data modifications by each department such as a failure of sales project, reduce or change component in product design, over ordering, and decrease manufacturing plan quantities and so on. These modifications are occurring frequently on day-to-day. Therefore, inventory manager consumes much of his time for taking these complex analysis using various data. In this research, excess inventory monitoring tool was developed to reduce analysis cost and to accelerate cycle of taking measures against excess inventories. We evaluated workloads required for the data processing on inventory management before and after tool application. The result showed that the developed prototype reduced the workload compared to traditional manual operations.
