Success Prioritized Random Backoff Algorithm: Slotted ALOHA

(in English) The advancement of wireless communication technologies will make the frame time length to be shortened on wireless channels. The contention time region in the start of a frame transmission will be widened relatively so that the advantage of carrier-sensing function would be reduced for random access protocols. The receiver is active during carrier-sensing so that the energy efficiency would be low for wireless communication devices. In this manuscript, we consider a non-persistent slotted ALOHA protocol that the transceiver is in a sleep mode except with transmit and receive slots on a condition of immediate ACK or self ACK. We propose a success prioritized backoff algorithm to enhance the communication efficiency of slotted ALOHA and evaluate its saturation throughput.
