[Poster Presentation] Musical Instrument Sound Classification through CNN with Wavelet Analysis

(in English) In music information processing, the instrument sounds analysis using a computer is an important research theme to analyze a musical composition. We know that the musical sounds are constructed by sum of some musical single tones weighted by a positive number. The analysis of musical sounds of musical composition can be realized by NMF(Non-negative Matrix Factorization) using a pre-trained dictionary. At this time, it is important to select well-posed features for making a pre-trained dictionary. This study assumed that the image data that visualized a result by the wavelet analysis of the instrument sounds as features of input data in this paper and performed image recognition by the machine learning. At first I make image data of the vertical axis is wavelet coefficient and the horizontal axis is time of a result by the wavelet analysis of the instrument sounds. Then this study implemented Imagenet as input in Chainer which is a tool of the deep learning. By such a system, this study performed an experiment for the instrument sound that made with the flute, the oboe, three kinds of musical instruments of the fagott and confirmed the effectiveness of this technique.
