Deleted Link Selection Algorithm Based on Energy Consumption and Link Length for Multi-Topology Routing

(in English) Fast failure recovery is an important issue in large-scale communication networks because packets are lost frequently when the failure occurs. Moreover, the energy consumption increases as the amount of traffic becomes large, and hence it is expected that the energy consumption is reduced. A fast failure recovery with multi-topology routing (MTR) has been proposed in order to perform the fast failure recovery and reduce the energy consumption. However, this method does not consider the length of link in communication networks. Therefore quality of services of the data transmission may degrade by increasing transmission delay when links are turned off. In this paper, we propose a deleted link selection algorithm based on energy consumption and link length with multi-topology routing. In this method, the network robustness and the average link delay is calculated in a case where each link is turned off, and some links are turned off while satisfying the network robustness. We evaluate the performance of the proposed method in JPN model and investigate the effectiveness of the proposed method for the energy consumption and the link delay.
