Through-the-wall radar (TWR) with ultra-wideband (UWB) signals is promising three-dimensional (3-D) sensor for the applications of detecting human body buried in collapsed walls in disaster scenes or imaging of human body through the wall in crime scenes.
As an efficient 3-D imaging method, the range points migration (RPM) method has been proposed and developed for extending to the above TWR applications.
However, there are some problems in the actual scenario that multiple reflection signals among walls or target incur a ghost image.
As a solution for this problem, double-bounced reflections, which are most dominant in multiple reflection, are discriminated by the Doppler velocity.
For this discrimination, the proposed method also introduces a rough estimation for target motion and location by the RPM, and cluster the range data by considering the double-bounced reflection between wall and target.
The FDTD based numerical simulation demonstrate that our proposed method effectively suppresses a ghost image. |
