Estimation of the physiological indices for representing the VIMS by discriminant analysis

(in English) In order to physiologically evaluate visually induced motion sickness (VIMS), we adopted autonomic nervous system-related indices estimated from heart rate and blood pressure variables. Since the indices are generally divided into those in the time and frequency domains, their physiological meanings are different, even though they may have similar sympathetic and parasympathetic indices. For example, when considering a depression in the ability to regulate blood pressure, differences in baroreceptor reflex sensitivity may be evaluated using the mean and standard deviation of conventional indices. As a result, it may be difficult to recognize VIMS using single indices. We will thus try to derive the appropriate indices that may be most related to the state of VIMS by applying discriminate analysis to several sympathetic and parasympathetic indices.
