Incentive design in crowdsourcing as a multi-armed bandit problem -- A case of more than one requesters --

Abstract (in Japanese) (See Japanese page)
(in English) We have examined to apply the multi-armed bandit (MAB) techniques to an incentive design problem in crowdsourcing. So far, researchers studied the effects of various incentives including financial and social ones. The effect of these incentives, however, may differ in different tasks. To overcome this difficulty, we take a data-driven approach combining exploration and exploitation instead of trying to find a universally effective incentive. We evaluated the performance of typical MAB algorithms by using word search puzzles. The experimental results show that applying the MAB algorithms is effective to obtain the appropriate incentive design. Moreover, we discuss the issues in realizing the collaboration of more than one requesters having the similar tasks.
