Design of Linvill's Negative Impedance Converters -- The Present Conditions and Issues --

(in English) Negative impedance converters (NIC), which can realize negative capacitors and negative inductors, have been significantly focused these days because of their potentials to provide wideband matching for electrically small antennas. Since the NIC circuit has a positive feedback loop in its transistor circuit and it can be easily unstable, additional circuits for stabilization are indispensable. However, most of published papers do not have mentioned about the NIC design design. This report introduces the detailed design method of Linvill's grounded NIC from selection of NIC circuits to stabilization of unstable NICs. In addition, experimental verification was carried out by fabricating a prototype model.
