A Study on Characteristic Analysis of Tapered Lines Impedance Transformer

(in English) In our laboratory, a training program whose objective is to learn technique of RF circuit design, fabrication and measurement, has been developed. In this study, a tapered lines impedance transformer which is one of the microwave experimental kit was focused on, and the characteristic errors between the calculation and the measurement result, variation in the measurement result of self-made circuits and number of steps with regard to stepwise tapered lines were investigated. In results, it was found that the gap which had been generated in the fabrication process was a factor of errors, the measurement result was influenced by the dynamic range of the VNA and the characteristic of lower-step lines was close enough to the one of continuously lines. In future study, we will apply to the lab experimental program.
