(in English) This paper proposes a maximum power estimator (MPE) for low-power energy harvesting.
The proposed circuit measures an output current and open voltage of the energy harvester by using successive approximation operation of a current digital to analog converter (DAC) and capacitive DAC.
This technique enables the maximum power estimation of energy harvesters with an unknown internal resistance.
The operation of the proposed circuit was evaluated from SPICE simulation in 65-nm CMOS process.
The power dissipation and the resolution were 5.3 $mu$W and 8 bit at the operating frequency of 16 kHz, respectively.
