In recent years, an increase in the amount of data has become a problem due to the increase in resolution of video equipment. Hence, video compression standards such as H.265 / HEVC are attracting attention. In this research, we propose an integer discrete cosine transform (DCT) circuit for H.265 / HEVC, corresponding to 4 kinds of input / output data numbers 4, 8, 16 and 32. By using the symmetry of the DCT, the proposed circuit can be mounted with a small area while responding to 4 kinds of input / output. As a circuit evaluation, it was designed using a 65 nm SOTB CMOS process. From the simulation results, the proposed circuit can operate with a power supply voltage of 0.5 V and an operating frequency of 50 MHz. In addition, the number of gates was 258,000. |
